Peanut Butter and Bacon treats
Ingredients
- 1 cup (255g) natural creamy peanut butter
- 3/4 cup (180ml) nonfat milk
- 1 large egg or 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 cups (244g) whole wheat flour
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup (30g) oats*
- 2–3 strips cooked bacon, chopped
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325°F
- Two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats
- In a large bowl, mix peanut butter, milk, and egg. After the ingredients are mixed, add the flour and baking powder. Mix in the oats and bacon. The dough should be thick and heavy.
- With a floured rolling pin, roll out the dough and use cookie shapes.
- Place in oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until very lightly browned on the bottom. Remove from the oven, and flip the treats to bake the other side for 10-12 more minutes.
- Allow to cool before serving to your pet.
- Store leftovers at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
Peanut Butter & Pumpkin treats
Ingredients
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup natural peanut butter
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon (No nutmeg, toxic to dogs)
- Preheat oven to 350F. Line a large baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.
Directions
- In bowl, mix pumpkin, eggs, and peanut butter.
- Add in flour and pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
- Lightly flour flat surface and roll out dough
- Cut shapes out of dough and place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 20 to 40 minutes
- Remove treats from oven and let cool.
- Store in an airtight container for 1 month in the refrigerator or 6 months in the freezer.
Peanut Butter & Banana treats
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups gluten-free old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 large ripe banana (or 2 medium bananas), smashed
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Blend the old-Fashioned rolled oats in the blender until it is fine flour
- In a bowl, smash the peanut butter and ripe banana. Add the oat flour and smash with a fork until the dough is thick and sticky.
- Roll dough and cut into shapes with a cookie cookie.
- Bake for 15 minutes until lightly brown underneath. Allow to cool.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!
Peanut Butter with Coconut Oil treats
Ingredients
- 1 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon liquid form coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Silicon shape tray
Directions
- If coconut oil is thick, heat in a small saucepan until melted.
- In bowl, add peanut butter and cinnamon with the melted coconut oil and stir until mixture is completely smooth.
- Pour mixture into silicone shape tray and freeze until hard.
- Slowly remove the treat from the tray and store in air-tight container in freezer.
Peanut Butter & Chicken treats
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 whole egg, lightly beaten
- 1/3 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 medium banana, mashed (about 1/4 cup)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix flour, oats and nonfat dry milk in a large bowl.
- Stir in the chicken broth, egg and peanut butter. Then add in the banana.
- Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface.
- Flatten the dough with a floured rolling pin.
- Use cookie cutters and then place on baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and allow to cool.
