  1.  Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Introductory Policy

    1. Hours of Operation – we care for pets 365 days a year.
      1. Business Hours for phone calls / emails: Monday – Saturday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
      2. Dog Walking Hours: Monday – Sunday 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
      3. Pet Sitting Hours (drop-in visits / cat care): 7:30 AM – 8:30 PM
    2. Consultations
      1. A consultation is required prior to beginning services and an appointment must be set.
      2. A consultation requires a non-refundable deposit that may contribute to the client’s first walk or visit.
      3. To have the assigned sitter or walker join the first consultation:
        1. The manager or owner of FHPS will attend the first visit or walk with the assigned sitter or walker to ensure that it’s a great fit.
        2. The person conducting the consultation will always be a back-up just in case the employee is unavailable. We want to always guarantee that your pets are cared for. 
      4. For additional consultations, $10 after the original consult.
    3. The Fire Hydrant Team
      1. The Fire Hydrant Team consists of Employees.
        1. FHPS employees are not for direct hire, and may not compete against FHPS.
        2. The employees are covered by Worker’s Compensation insurance in case of an accident and/or injury.
      2. Each employee has successfully passed a background check and is Pet CPR and First Aid Certified

    1. Unacceptable Pets
      1. No birds, chickens are acceptable
      2. No insects or arachnids
  1. Service/Request Policy

    1. All bookings/appointments must have a reservation
    2. To request services, please contact Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co. through phone, email, Time to Pet, Precise Pet Care, or contact form on our website
    3. Last Minute Bookings are not guaranteed without sufficient notice
  2. Services

    1. Cat Care + Drop-In Visits
      1. Pet(s) must be updated on all shots. 
      2. Minimum of one (1) visit per day for those who are going to be away from the local area for a longer time period than one day.  
      3. Must provide reliable form of entry.
        1. If form of entry fails, walker will do their best to contact the Owner with any issues
        2. Owner must provide water, food, litter, cleaning supplies, etc..
      4. It is considered a Drop-In vs. a Dog Walk when feeding is involved and a short walk (not 30- or 60-minutes) is included. The Client will be charged the Drop-In rate.
      5. Any additional tasks must be mentioned prior to booking.
    2. Dog Walking Policies
      1. Dog(s) must be updated on all shots.
      2. Retractable leashes are prohibited. 
      3. Must provide a reliable form of entry. If the form of entry fails, walker will do their best to contact the Owner with any issues
    3. Pet Nanny
      1. Dog(s) must be updated on all shots.
      2. Retractable leashes are prohibited. 
      3. Must provide a reliable form of entry.
        1. If the form of entry fails, nanny will do their best to contact the Owner with any issues.
        2. Owner must provide water, food, litter, cleaning supplies, etc..
      4. Minimum of two (2) hours 
      5. Special events may incur an additional rate, please call/text with questions
      6. Any additional tasks must be mentioned prior to booking.
    4. Pack Walks
      1. Pack walks are not always guaranteed and depends on availability and scheduling. Please give FHPS a call with any questions or to check on availability.
      2. Dog(s) must be updated on all shots.
      3. Retractable leashes are prohibited. 
      4. Must provide a reliable form of entry. If form of entry fails, the walker will do their best to contact the Owner with any issues.
      5. Dog(s) will be away from home for a minimum of two hours from the time we pick them up and until the time we bring them home.
  1. Payment Policy

    1. Payments can be made in the form of Cash, Check, PayPal, Venmo, QuickPay, or Credit or Debit Card. Please make all checks payable to Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co. Coins and/or change are not accepted. Payments shall not be mailed. 
    2. If booking through Rover, payments may be made through Rover for up to two (2) payments or re-bookings. After the two (2) re-bookings, the client may pay Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting via the methods in section B under this Payment Policy. If Client would like to continue to pay through Rover, they will be charged an additional 15% fee to cover the amount that Rover applies.
    3. Payment Delivery
      1. Payment is required prior to starting service.
        1. Cat Care + Drop-In Visits 
          1. Full amount prior to starting services
          2. 50% before the scheduled booking, the last 50% due the last day of service.

        2. Dog Walking + Pack Walk
          1. Monthly | Must be paid by the 7th of each month or unless specified otherwise. 
          2. Bi-Weekly | Must be paid for the upcoming two weeks prior to the start of the walks
          3. Weekly or Daily | Must be paid prior to starting the week or day. 
        3. Pet Nanny
          1. Full amount prior to starting services
          2. Weekly, monthly, or daily options available | Must be paid prior to starting the week or day.
      2. If you are unable to pay on time or need an extension, Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting must be notified 24 hours before the due date.
    4. A daily fee will apply if payment is late. 
    5. For Holiday Rates, please view our website for the dates they apply. 
      1. For Thanksgiving and Christmas a non-refundable 50% deposit is due one week prior to the beginning of services 
      2. This applies to Drop-In Visits, Cat Care, and the Pet Nanny. 
    6. When credited, it must be a service of lower or equal value.
  2. Cancellation Policy

    1. If Employee arrives to Client’s home, and a key is forgotten to be set out then the following may occur:
      1. The employee will do everything possible to contact Client and Emergency Contact 
      2. If Client agreed to a Locksmith on the Service Agreement, then a locksmith will be called.
      3. 50% of the walk/visit will be required to cover the walkers or sitters time and travel
    2. If cancelling within 24 hours prior to the scheduled booking, the Owner will not receive a refund.
    3. If Sitter/Walker cancels, and there is no replacement, the Owner will receive a full refund or credited for future bookings.
    4. If Owner would like to come back home early, or cut the walk short without a 24 hour notice, no refunds or credits will be issued.
    5. If Owner needs to reschedule there must be a 12 hour notice, and the Owner will be credited. Two reschedules may be permitted. After the second reschedule, Owner will not be refunded.
  3. Unforeseen Circumstance Policy

    1. Weather
      1. Your pet will be taken care of with weather of sunshine, rain, and snow. 
        1. If your pet does not feel comfortable walking in rain or snow, please inform Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting beforehand so precautions may be taken.
        2. If the walk has to be rescheduled due to rain or snow, it will be credited towards the Clients account.
      2. For extreme weather circumstances with severe temperatures and hazardous weather conditions, such as temperatures exceeding 90 degrees, or below 15 degrees, the Sitter/Walker will give the pet a potty break, and spend the remainder of the time playing with the pet indoors. 
      3. In the event of the weather being too dangerous and life threatening for the Sitter and/or Walker to arrive to the Owner’s home, the Owner will be notified that the Sitter/Walker will not be able to perform the service. The Owner will be fully refunded. 
      4. When it comes to snow in the driveway and walkway up towards the home, the snow must be shoveled by the owner or a professional service for the sitter / walker to arrive to the Clients home safely. Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co., LLC is not liable for any snow shoveling on the Clients property. If the sitter / walker can not safely park their car or walk up the driveway and walkway up towards the home, the service may not be completed and a refund shall not be given due to the lack of shoveling of snow on the property.
    2. Purchases
      1. If the pet supplies that are needed to maintain the health and safety of the pet are not provided, the Sitter/Walker may purchase the supplies needed. Sitter/Walker will keep receipt(s) for the Owner to refund them. 
        1. An additional Trip/Errand Fee will be applied (Please view the Additional Fees Policy for more details)
    3. Serious Illness/Death
      1. Owner/Client
        1. At Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co., we understand that unforeseen occurrences happen. (Events such as the Owner or the pet getting sick, death of the pet, death of a family member, or life-threatening emergencies, pandemics, etc. ) Due to these horrible occurrences, Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting will be more than glad to refund or credit you for the service. 
      2. Pet Sitter/Dog Walker
        1. At Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co., we understand that unforeseen occurrences happen, even to our Employees. If a replacement can not be found to complete the service requested, the Owner will be refunded or credited.
  4. Additional Fees Policy

    1. Additional fees for cancellations (please see the cancellation policy for more details)
    2. After Hours (8:30 PM – 10:30 PM), $9
    3. Before Hours (5:00 AM – 7:00 AM), $9
    4. Bounced Check, $35 Fee
    5. Errand Fee $10 per trip
    6. Forgotten Key 50% of that days work 
    7. Holiday Rates Apply around the holiday 
    8. Key Pick Up & Drop Off, $10 Each Way – to pick up key, and drop off key
    9. Late Payment is $10 per day until full payment is received
    10. Travel fee, $5-$9 for services outside of service area
