Your FREE New Pet Checklist

For Dogs

▢ Dog Food

▢ Sealed Vault for Dog Food

▢ Treats + Treat Jar

▢ Collar and/or Harness, with a 4-to-6 foot Leash

Do not hesitate to try different collars/harnesses. From our experience, it doesn’t matter on the breed, it matters on the individual dog and what they prefer. One labrador may like and respond to a harness more than being walked by the collar. You will be able to immediately tell because they will respond and listen to you more, making it easier to redirect them, and to make the walk more enjoyable.

▢ Name Tag, with pets name and owners phone number

▢ Microchip Registered Under Owners Name + Information

Once the microchip is inserted, that isn’t the end of it! You must go online and input your information.

▢ Food + Water Bowls

▢ Folder for Vaccination Records to keep everything in one place

▢ Flea medication

▢ Crate

▢ Dog Bed

Make sure your new dog is okay with bedding, some dogs like to chew it up. To test it out, leave for a short period of time or put your new dog in with the bedding and leave the room. Monitor how they react with it, do they start to bite at it? Or do they make themselves comfortable?

▢ Toys to Play With

Make sure to monitor! Some dogs like to tear apart stuffed animals, and you don’t want them choking or swallowing any of the stuffing or plastic pieces. If they go at it with stuffed toys, then use rubber or silicone toys instead.

▢ Basket for Toys

▢ Chew Toys / Bones for Their Teeth

▢ Nanny Cam / Dog Camera

Totally worth the investment! Many sitters on our team have cameras for their own pets! It’s always nice and a piece of mind knowing that your pets are doing okay while you are away.

▢ Dog Shampoo (Oatmeal or Baby Shampoo does just the trick!)

▢ Fish Oils (Helps with the softness and health of your dogs fur and joints)

▢ Dog Brush

▢ Nail Clippers

▢ Dog Toothbrush

▢ First Aid Kit for Dogs

▢ Poop Bags + Poop Bag Holder

▢ Baby Gate (to exclude your new dog accessing parts of the home)

▢ RESOLVE Pet Expert: Stain & Odor Remover Foam
