our mission

Here at Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co., LLC we value our furry clients and their owners. They mean so much to us, and we wouldn’t be able to continue to do what we love without them. Vacations and long hours at work are just a part of life. I’m pretty sure we would all love to stay home with our pets, but life does not always permit that. Which leads to our pets being left at home alone not getting any activity. Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting is here to help! We want to make sure your fur babies are taken care of! We offer a personalized range of services that have various benefits and ones that your pet will love.

The Sitter or Walker may access your may access your home in anyway you, as the Owner, may choose. We highly recommend a key to access the property since it is the most reliable source. Especially since clickers and garage door pads can run out of batteries or get frozen. If the key or garage door pad fail entry into the home, we do clarify with our clients during the consultation if they would like a Locksmith or for us to call an emergency contact.

My cat can take care of itself while I’m on vacation, can you come every few days?2020-01-16T01:39:30+00:00

To ensure the safety of your cat, we do require a minimum of one (1) visit per day to avoid any accidents they may have while they are by themselves.

What is the difference between a drop-in visit and a dog nanny or cat nanny?2019-12-06T13:34:43+00:00

The main difference is that drop-in visits are only 30-minute or 60-minute intervals, that are not consecutive. With a pet nanny, they will be there for consecutive hours, with a 2-hour minimum.

Is it okay that my dog or cat is aggressive?2019-12-06T13:34:26+00:00

It depends on the situation and the pet. A consultation *MUST* be scheduled. Food and toy aggression is not a problem. If the dog is aggressive towards other dogs or children, please make sure to mention it to the sitter during the consultation. It will be helpful to know if the sitter takes the dog for walk.

If your dog or cat is aggressive towards other human beings (especially the sitter), inside and outside the home, we will not be able to continue our services. We would highly recommend a dog trainer or behaviorist to allow them to teach your pet to allow strangers into the home.

What time can the sitter be there to check on my dog or cat?2019-12-06T13:33:42+00:00

During the consultation, this may be discussed.

Are prong collars allowed?2019-12-06T13:25:27+00:00

Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting does accept prong collars for TRAINING purposes only. After the walk, the walker will remove the prong collar to ensure the safety of the dog. Do you do off-leash dog walking?2019-12-06T13:24:59+00:00

Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting does not participate with off-leash dog walks. The dog must have a leash or harness on at all times. Prior to the walk, the walker will make sure the collar/harness is securely tightened, so the pet will be safe and will have a lower risk of any unexpected circumstances.

Are any leashes or collars not allowed?2019-12-06T13:24:39+00:00

Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting does not walk dogs with retractible leashes due to lack of control and the unreliability of the leash. The walker will have their dog walking kit, which will contain spare leashes so the walk may be continued if the Owner only provided a retractible leash.
