Summary: For Valentine’s Day 2020, a California-based pet sitting company is helping to spread love and happiness by hosting a supply drive for abandoned and unwanted animals.
(La Verne, CA) — According to PETA, every year in the U.S., more than 6 million lost, abandoned, or unwanted dogs and cats enter animal shelters, and thanks to the Third Annual Share the Love Supply Drive being held by Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co., LLC, local pet lovers are now able to show their love by donating needed items.
“All supplies will be donated to Priceless Pet Rescue (PPR) on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2020,” said Kylie Holliman-Rivera, owner of Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co., LLC, a company that provides pet sitting services in the Inland Empire and San Gabriel Valley area.
Priceless Pet Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill pet rescue operating out of multiple adoption centers known as “The Orphanage”. All animals are rescued from surrounding high-kill, high-access shelters, owner surrenders on a case-by-case basis, and other various circumstances.
Holliman-Rivera explained that its goal is to fill up 20 bags full of donations for PPR.
“For those who want to participate in our Share the Love Supply Drive, Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting can come by to collect supplies at no charge,” Holliman-Rivera stressed, before adding, “the supplies that we’re accepting include: towels, sheets, blankets, dish soap, trash bags, old dog beds, dog crates, gloves, collars, leashes, dry dog and/or cat food, wet dog and/or cat food, dog and/or cat toys, cat or dog exercise pen, etc.”
Holliman-Rivera went on to point out that the last day to donate and for representatives with Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting to pick up the supplies is Feb. 13 since the company will donate the supplies to PPR on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.
As to what makes this event different, Holliman-Rivera noted that it’s her company’s way of giving back to the community.
“Everyone is so busy giving love to themselves or their significant others on Valentine’s Day, but we want to be able to give back to the dogs and cats that don’t yet have their forever homes and let them know they are loved too,” Holliman-Rivera said in reference to the event geared toward residents of Claremont, La Verne, Pomona, Upland, San Dimas, Glendora who are willing and able to donate supplies that they no longer use for their pets, or are doing early spring cleaning. “Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting is here to help and make sure they have the supplies they need.”
Participants are also asked to share their donation on Instagram or Facebook, and tag PPR and Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting with #ShareTheLove2020.
“We would love to feature them,” Holliman-Rivera said.
